About PawsCause.org
PawsCause.org was started as an off-shoot of Long Meadow Farm, a retirement for wayward farm animals. We recognized a need to help local animal shelters that are constantly in short supply of pet food and basics such as paper towels and bleach. We are dedicated to supporting animal shelters and animal advocacy groups specifically in South Jersey and more broadly in the tri-state area. Our directive is to pool resources to provide needed supplies to vetted regional pet shelters. Through our PetPantry(R), we also provide support to local families in an effort to keep beloved pets in their homes. We developed a network of pet food suppliers which provide the food to PawsCause.org prior to its expiration date, or in bags that are damaged, or cannot otherwise be sold. We purchase these at a deep discount and immediately distribute them to local shelters or local residents in need.
Unlike other “charities” we are truly a “non-profit”. One hundred percent of our donations are directly distributed to local shelters or animal advocacy groups. We do not have any salaries, administration fees or operating costs. Instead, we are a group of volunteers looking the help our four legged friends and the families they belong too. Rest assured that every dollar PawsCause.org receives from our donors goes directly to animal welfare (see our 501(c)3 disclosure).
When necessary we step in to assist families during particularly dire situations. Our preference is to try to keep pets in their loving homes; however if that is not possible, we will try to find a new home for the animal BEFORE it is surrendered to a shelter. Nearly all shelters in our region are operating at full capacity.

Pawscause.org is a registered NJ non-profit (identification number 0450743294). As of December 20, 2021 we are also a registered 501(c)(3) Private Foundation (ID number 87-4030415). As such, donors can deduct 100% of the contributions they make to Pawscause.org under IRC Section 170. Pawscause.org is also able to receive tax deductible bequests, devises, transfers or gifts under Section 2055, 2106, or 2522.
